The library was completely remodeled and reopened this year. It's nice and clean. It has 2 stories. The staff is very nice.
There are now two entrances into the the library. The new one being on the corner of Market Pl and Bollinger Canyon Rd. The building is now completely ADA compliant, with automatic disabled door buttons to push to automatically open doors. Wonderful for parents / caregivers pushing strollers too.
After almost two years being closed for a major remodel, the renovated San Ramon Public Library has been completely gutted for the better. It's so much more brighter, spacious, and bigger within the original building on the corner of Market Pl and Bollinger Canyon across from City Hall and Central Park.
The guys at the counter are very helpful and nice. I like to go and browse the new books. The shelves with the popular books is great.
Upstairs is now opened for Teens and Jazz lovers, plus a huge meeting space and music listening rooms and study rooms.
Great kids events and activities. Clean place and good environment to read and study.
I'm real pleased the library has reopened. I only miss those old desk cubicles it had before as it was more quiet in the prior arrangement of the library.
Lots of electrical outlets and charging stations in every nook and cranny, with many outlets built into the chairs, themselves. The library is completely wired. There is also free self-service laptop checkout station.
Downstairs - there is now a huge colorful Children's Library with interactive play exhibits, preschooler-sized furniture and computers. There is also a unisex restroom with a diaper changing table in the Children's area besides diaper changing tables in both the women's and men's restrooms near the huge elevator.
There is a Friends of the San Ramon Library Bookstore where you can actually pay a Friends volunteer who is usually sorting through library donations on the first floor. The money raised all goes back to library special programs and seasonal community events held at the two San Ramon libraries.
